Export to Channel

Learn how to connect your feed to a channel

Please note that you can only create one export for each channel (Google, Idealo, etc.).

You have the option of creating additional exports by creating an “Own export” and using the channel export as a template.

You can find more information about “Own exports” here:

Add export

If you have not yet created an export, the list will be empty.

In our short video, we show you how easy it is to create and manage a channel export using Channel Pilot Pro.

You have the option to export to different channels and thus present and sell your products in the best possible way, or to create an individual export.

To export your products to a channel, click on “Create new Export to Channel”.

To add your own export, click on “Add own export”.

Select a channel from the list and click on the plus symbol. You can filter the list of channels displayed.

General settings

You are back in the overview of all exports.

Here you see:

  • the name of your export

  • the country for which the export was created

  • which group the export is assigned to

  • how many items are active in this export

  • which export type you have selected

  • when the last export took place

  • when the export was last updated

You can activate or deactivate the export using the button under “Status”.

Export URL

To export your product catalog via the respective channel, you must first enter the URL generated by Channel Pilot Pro in the backend of the channel.

Set up your export

With export customization, you can define individual settings for each of your exports.

Click on the three dots on the right:

You have two options here. You can:

  • Edit the export

  • Delete the export

Click on “Edit export”.

Export overview

A new window will open. You will first be taken to the “Export overview” for the selected export.

Here you will find a link to your product feed, which you can copy directly to the clipboard or the backend of the channel.

You can also define “Filters” for your export here. You can either select an existing “Filter” or create a new one.

For general information on the subject of “Filters” click the link below.

Data Mapping

By default, the settings from your global data field assignment that you made after the product catalog import are automatically adopted here.

There are mandatory channel attributes that are required and without which your export will fail.

These necessary channel attributes are marked with this symbol:

The “Channel data fields” displayed in the table are predefined by the channel to which you want to export. You cannot edit them, but you have the option of integrating additional fields into the export.

You can find out how to do this in the video above.

Tip:

It makes sense to fill in as many data fields as possible. Complete information enables faster processing and more precise results when customers search for your products.

In addition, as much information as possible ensures that all relevant aspects are taken into account, which ultimately leads to better results.

For general information on the subject of “Data Mapping” click the link below.

Actions in export data fields

Some channels have certain “format definitions” for individual fields, for which Channel Pilot Pro offers automatic actions to comply with these.

Activate the automatic action (if available) via the checkbox in the line, as shown in the video.

Example: Google expects the price in ISO 4217 format -> Channel Pilot Pro automatically exports it in this format if the action is activated.

Automatic actions are available for the following data fields:

price / sale_price

Adjusts the price format to the specification

category

Category Mapping

Mapping products to categories is crucial to ensure a clear structure and clarity. It makes it easier for your customers to search and select, improves the user experience and therefore increases the likelihood of purchases.

It also helps to manage inventory effectively and makes it easier to analyze sales data. Well thought-out categorization also helps to optimize marketing and develop targeted advertising measures.

Tags

Tags help you to bring structure and clarity to your data.

You can find all information on the topic of "Tags" here:

Delete Channel Export

An export can only be deleted if it is “inactive.”

There are two ways to “deactivate” an export.

  • In the export overview, set the slider so that it appears greyed out.

  • In the export schedule, set the interval to “Paused.”

After that, there are two ways to “delete” the export.

  • In the export overview, click on the three dots and select “Delete Export

  • Within your export, click on the three dots in the top right and select “Delete Export

Then confirm the warning message and your export will be deleted.

Note: A deleted export cannot be restored. All data, settings, and connections will be permanently lost when deleted.

So think carefully about whether you really want to delete the export, or if deactivating it is sufficient.
