A filter allows you to customize your imports and exports. For example, you can include or exclude items below a certain price, filter items with certain keywords in the product description or only import or export certain products.

Filters offer you a wide range of options for managing your product catalogs and products.

If you have not yet created any filters, the overview will be empty.

In the list, you can see which filters you have already created.

The Name of the filter
The Status:
- in use
- not in use
The Usage summary shows you, where your filter is used.

Create a filter

Click on "Add product filter".
Give a unique name to your product filter. It should be clear at first glance what purpose the filter serves. In our example, we call this filter “price to low”, because we want to exclude all articles with a certain margin.
- Select:
  - Allowlist: All items that fulfil these requirements will be included (imported).
    Note: If you use a dot (.) or comma (,) as a decimal separator, you can select the "Number" option.
  - Blocklist: All articles that fulfil these requirements will be excluded (not imported).
Click on "Save".

A new window opens.
Click on “Create new variable” to define the input data field and the parameters. This step is necessary for the formula to work.
Fill in the necessary parameters.
1. Reference Data Field: Select the data field that the formula should refer to.
  - Unique Product Number: The value you selected as the unique product number (SKU) when creating the feed.
  - Data Fields from Feed: Select a specific data field from an import feed.
  - Custom Data Field: If you have already created custom data fields and want to use one of them as a reference, select it here.
  - Filter: You can use an existing filter as the source data field.
  - Fixed Value: Enter a fixed value here.
    
    You have the option to search for a specific data field. To do so, click on the “Search” field.
    
    You can also create new data fields and/or filters directly by using the plus icon to the right of “Customized Data Fields” and “Filters,” so you can use them in the new filter.
2. Name: Enter the name that will be used in the formula here.
  
  Note that there are naming restrictions.
3. Type
  - Number: Select this option if the source data field contains only numbers.
    Note: If you use a dot (.) or comma (,) as a decimal separator, you can select the "Number" option.
  - String: Select this option if the source data field contains not only numbers.
Click on "Create".
Create the formula either directly using the formula editor or with the help of our AI.
Click on “Generate Formula and Test”. A random item will be selected.
- You can also perform a “Single Article Test” and enter an SKU here to test a specific item.
- You can also carry out a “Full feed test”. Please note that this may take some time depending on the size of your feed.
  - If the feed test was successful, the result will be displayed as a table. You can search and filter the list in this table. The number of articles that are included or excluded is also displayed to the right above the table.

Create a formula using the "Formula Editor"

The “formula editor” allows you to create complex data manipulations and filter rules. This allows you to respond to all market requirements with customized data sets and product feeds.

Create a formula using AI

With the “AI Formula generator”, you can generate a formula from natural language - without any programming knowledge. Simply describe the functions that your data field should fulfill in the form of a prompt and our AI will generate the appropriate formula for you.

Use filters

Import filter

Click on the feed to which you would like to assign a filter.
Scroll all the way down in the “Feed overview”.
Select the filter to be applied to the feed.
Note that you can only use one filter at a time.
Click on “Save changes”.

The filter will be applied to your feed. Please note that this may take some time. Depending on the size of your feed, up to several minutes.

Export filter

Click on the export to which you would like to assign a filter.
Scroll all the way down in the “Export overview”.
Select the filter you want to apply to the feed.

You do not need to save your change. The filter will be automatically applied to your export immediately. Please note that, depending on the size of your export feed, it may take a few minutes for this process to be completed.

Duplicate Product Filters

With our new feature, you can create a product filter using an existing product filter as a template.

Click on “Add new Product Filter”
Select “Duplicate product filter”
Select the shop where the filter you want to duplicate is located
Next, select the corresponding product filter
Give the new filter a name
Click on “Save”

The product filter will be duplicated and is immediately available.

Delete filters

A filter can only be deleted if it is not in use. If a filter is in use, you must first cancel the assignment in the feed.

Click on the "x" in the feed under product filter to delete the filter from the feed.
Go to "Product filters".
Click on the three dots on the right-hand side and select "Delete product filter".
