AI Data-, Attribute- and Value Mapping

Learn how to map your data fields, attributes and values with one click using AI.

Every channel and marketplace needs to know which of your data fields contains which information. Until now, you set up these mappings by hand, field by field and value by value. With "Map with AI", Channel Pilot Pro NXT does this for you: the AI suggests the best-fitting source data field for every unmapped channel data field and the best-fitting channel value for every unmapped shop value. You review the suggestions and decide what to save.

"Map with AI" is available in:

  • Data Mapping and Global Data Mapping

  • Attribute Mapping

  • Value Mapping (in the "Edit Value Mapping" window of an attribute)

Note: The AI never saves anything automatically and never overwrites existing mappings. It only fills fields that are still empty. If it isn't confident about a match, it leaves the field empty instead of guessing.

Map data fields with AI

Use this in the Global Data Mapping after your feed import, or in the Data Field Mapping of a channel or marketplace. The AI considers these source data fields:

  • Global Data Mapping: unique article number, data fields from your feeds and custom data fields

  • Data Field Mapping of a channel: unique article number, data fields from your feeds, custom data fields and global data fields

  1. Open the data mapping you want to complete, for example "Data optimization" -> "Data Mapping".

  2. Click "Map with AI". The button shows a loading state while the AI is working.

    • You can keep editing the table in the meantime. Fields you fill in manually during the run are kept.

  3. Wait until the AI is finished. The suggested source data fields now appear in the table, and a message shows how many fields were mapped.

  4. Check the suggestions and change any field if needed.

  5. Click "Save" to keep the mappings, or "Discard" to go back to your last saved state.

Note: Don't reload or leave the page while the AI is working. The run is cancelled and nothing is saved, including unsaved manual changes.

Map attributes with AI

Attribute Mapping works exactly like Data Mapping. The only difference: the AI only maps the attributes of the marketplace category you have selected.

  1. Open the Attribute Mapping of your marketplace.

  2. Select the marketplace category you want to map.

  3. Click "Map with AI" and wait until the AI is finished.

  4. Check the suggested source data fields and adjust them if needed.

  5. Click "Save" or "Discard".

  6. Repeat these steps for every other category you use.

Map values with AI

Value Mapping assigns the values of your shop (for example "dark blue") to the values the marketplace accepts (for example "Blue"). The AI picks channel values from the marketplace's list of allowed values only.

Note: The "Map with AI" button only appears if the attribute has both shop values and channel values.

  1. Open the "Edit Value Mapping" window of the attribute you want to map.

  2. Click "Map with AI" at the top of the window. While the AI is working, the window is read-only.

  3. Wait until the AI is finished. The matched values are added as normal mapping rows (shop value -> channel value), just like rows you create yourself.

  4. Check the new rows and change them if needed.

  5. Click "Save" to keep the mappings, or "Discard" to drop them.

The AI only maps shop values you can still select in the "Shop value" dropdown. Rows that are already mapped, including rows you added yourself, stay as they are. Several shop values can be mapped to the same channel value.

Note: If you close the window while the AI is working, the run is cancelled and nothing is saved.

Good to know

  • You can run the AI as often as you like. Each run only fills what is still empty. While a run is in progress, clicking the button again has no effect.

  • The button is disabled when everything is mapped. In Data and Attribute Mapping, the tooltip then says "All fields are already mapped."

  • Types must match. The AI only suggests source data fields that fit the channel data field, for example no text field for a price.

  • There are no default values. If the AI finds no confident match, the field stays empty. In Value Mapping, the AI never sets "Default (Fallback)" and never creates custom channel values.

Tips for better results

The AI compares your data field names and values with the description and example value of each channel data field. Clear, descriptive data field names lead to better suggestions. For example, color or brand works better than attr_07. If your feed uses cryptic names, consider renaming them first: Renaming data field names.

FAQ

Does the AI overwrite my existing mappings? No. The AI only fills fields that are empty at the moment the suggestions are applied. Saved mappings and fields you entered manually, even during the run, are never changed.

Are the suggestions saved automatically? No. Nothing is saved until you click "Save".

Why are some fields still empty after the AI run? The AI only suggests a match if it is confident enough. Map these fields manually.
