Customized Data Fields

With your "Customized Data Fields", you can generate a new datafield using the values from parameters and operators and save it within a new datafield. These can be used like imported datafields from your product feed and supplement them. This allows you to generate the right data feed for all your requirements and export to it via a feed using the data field assignment.

Create a Customized Data Field

  1. Click on "Customized Data Fields".

    The overview opens. If you have not yet created a Customized Data Field, the list is empty.

    In the list, you can see which data fields you have already created.

    • The Name of the data field

    • The Status:

      • in use (highlighted in green)

      • not in use (highlighted in white)

    • The Usage summary shows you, where your data field is used.

  2. Click on "Create new data field".

  3. Give the new data field a name.

    Tip: The name should indicate the purpose.

    This name will be visible in the “Data Mapping”. You can change the name at any time by clicking the cogwheel on the upper right.

  4. Click "Save".

    A new window opens.

  5. Click on "Formula editor".

  6. Click "Create new variable", to define the input data field and the necessary parameters. This step is required for the formula to work.

  7. Fill in the necessary parameters.

  8. Reference Data Field: Select the data field that the formula should refer to.

    • Unique Product Number: The value you selected as the unique product number (SKU) when creating the feed.

    • Data Fields from Feed: Select a specific data field from an import feed.

    • Custom Data Field: If you have already created custom data fields and want to use one of them as a reference, select it here.

    • Filter: You can use an existing filter as the source data field.

    • Fixed Value: Enter a fixed value here.

      You have the option to search for a specific data field. To do so, click on the “Search” field.

      You can also create new data fields and/or filters directly by using the plus icon to the right of “Custom Data Fields” and “Filters,” so you can use them in the new filter.

    • Name: Enter the name that will be used in the formula here.

      Note that there are naming restrictions.

    • Type

      • Number: Select this option if the source data field contains only numbers.

        • Note: If you use a dot (.) or comma (,) as a decimal separator, you can select the "Number" option.

      • String: Select this option if the source data field contains not only numbers.

  9. Click on "Create".

Formula input

  1. Click on "Functions". A list of all available functions is displayed below.

  2. Select the function. If you move the mouse over the corresponding function, a description appears to the right of it. It briefly describes what this formula can be used for, gives one or more examples, and provides information on how the syntax must be structured.

  3. Click on the formula. It is transferred to the formula field.

  4. Enter the name, you defined previously, into the formula.

  5. You can test the formula.

    1. Single article_test: Selects a random article from the feed. Alternatively, you can also enter an SKU if you want to test a specific item.

      You will receive a message whether the test was successful and a direct preview for comparison.

    2. Full feed test: Tests the entire feed and issues a message.

      Please note that this can take a long time depending on the size of the feed.

  6. Click on "Save changes" on the top right.

Your data field will be provided. Please note that processing may take a moment. It may take a few minutes before you can use the data field.

Create a duplicate data field

With our new feature, you can create a customized data field using an existing custom data field as a template.

  1. Click on “Create new Data Field”

  2. Select “Duplicate Data Field”

  3. Select the shop where the data field you want to duplicate is located

  4. Next, select the corresponding data field

  5. Give the new data field a name

  6. Click on “Save”

The data field will be duplicated and is immediately available.

Delete a Customized Data Field

NOTE: A data field can not be deleted as long as it is in use.

The data field is not in use

  1. Click on "Customized Data Fields" on the home page.

  2. In the overview, you can see at a glance whether a data field is being used.

    If the data field is not the case, proceed as follows:

    • Click on the three dots on the right-hand side, next to the data field you want to delete.

      • Click on "Delete data field".

Confirm your choice to delete the selected data field.

A deleted data field cannot be restored.

The data field is in use

If the data field is in use, the delete function is visible but not available.

  1. First, the data field assignment must be cancelled. Check here for information on how to cancel data field assignment.

  2. Once the data field assignment has been cancelled, proceed as described above.
